          EVANDER HOLYFIELD is at Walt Disney's Wide World of
     Sports complex in Orlando this weekend watching his children
     participate in the '97 AAU National Track & Field Club
     Championships (THE DAILY)....The Pacers' REGGIE MILLER
     attended the premiere of "187" Tuesday night.  The new movie
     stars SAMUEL JACKSON ("Showbiz Today," CNN, 7/30)....Fox
     threw a party Tuesday for MAGIC JOHNSON, who will host a
     late-night talk show for the network.  Johnson: "I think
     that I'll be able to ... make people feel good, make my
     guests feel good, and make them want to talk and people want
     to listen" ("Showbiz Today," CNN, 7/30).  One day after
     talks broke down for one site, MAGIC JOHNSON THEATERS is
     looking to build a 12-screen multiplex at another site in
     Harlem, NY (N.Y. TIMES, 7/31)....A group led by Cavs Owner
     GORDON GUND has purchased IN-based E.span, a provider of
     online job postings, to complement Gund's Cleveland-based
     human resources ad agency, Nationwide Advertising Service
     (INDIANAPOLIS STAR-NEWS, 7/31).
