          In N.Y., Keith Kelly writes in his "Scene & Heard"
     column that Disney is "dangling" $350,000 for the editor's
     position at ESPN magazine and "even have a front-runner in"
     SI Managing Editor John Papanek (N.Y. Daily News, 7/25)....
     CBC in Canada will not broadcast the track and field World
     Championships.  CBC's Paul Welsby said that the IAAF wanted
     $250,000 for Canadian TV rights, and that the CBC decided
     costs for rights staffing the event in Athens, "were
     prohibitive" (DETROIT NEWS, 7/24)....Dolphins coach Jimmy
     Johnson has signed a deal with WQAM-AM in Miami to do a
     weekly radio show (MIAMI HERALD, 7/24)....IMG has signed
     S.F.-based The Content Group to develop interactive
     multimedia at its tennis events.  Content's first project
     for IMG, TekSport, debuted this week at the Corel WTA Tour's
     Bank of the West Tennis Classic at Stanford Univ. (IMG).

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
