CHEESEHEAD SURFERS REJOICE: PACKERS LAUNCH TEAM WEBSITE

The Packers have launched a website at www.Packers.com,
which will have more than 1,200 pages of information. The
site is produced by Green Bay-based Digital Magic
Interactive in conjunction with the team. The site features
news, stats and chat sessions with players. Plans call for
a Lambeau Cam, providing a real-time look inside the
stadium, and the possibility of the team's radio broadcasts
(Packers). Packers President Bob Harlan: "We would hope
sometime in the future that it becomes a revenue producer
for us, that we could get some sponsorships and advertisers
involved." Packers Dir of Marketing Jeff Cieply: "Revenue
on the Internet is still in its infancy. I think we're
preparing ourselves for that opportunity. We're in line to
capitalize on it. But today, it's not driving this"
     (AP/MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 7/24).
