          A N.Y. TIMES report says DC attorney CRAIG MASBACK will
     be named Exec Director of USA Track & Field tomorrow,
     according to people "familiar with his hiring" (N.Y. TIMES,
     7/15)....THE NAACP honored DON KING with its President's
     Award (WASHINGTON POST, 7/15)....Brad Blank Associates' BRAD
     BLANK has hired Boston-based attorney HARRY MANION to pursue
     a financial settlement after his dismissal as the agent  of
     Jets' first-round draft pick JAMES FARRIOR (NEWSDAY, 7/15). 
     ...The S.F. District Attorney's office has declined to
     prosecute Cowboys WR MICHAEL IRVIN over an alleged incident
     at a nightclub last month (S.F. CHRONICLE, 7/15)....DICK
     ENBERG will host "Students of the Game," a TV special
     honoring the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, to air
     on NBC on July 20 (GTE Academic All-America Team).
