"IT'S OVER": LEAFS PUT UNION STATION NEGOTIATIONS ON ICE

          Maple Leaf Gardens Ltd. said it is "killing plans" for
     a C$300M arena at Union Station, according to Don Wanagas of
     the TORONTO SUN.  Leafs VP/Arena Project Dir Tom Anselmi:
     "We're done negotiating.  For all intents and purposes it's
     over.  We're not going to continue with this."  MLG
     officials received formal notification yesterday from the
     city of Toronto that the city council's executive committee
     had again rejected their "best offer" of C$34M to lease the
     Union Station site (TORONTO SUN, 7/10).
