FRANCHISE NOTES

          The Packers Board of Directors plans to meet on
     Wednesday to consider the sale of additional stock for the
     team (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 6/26)....In Toronto, Bob
     Elliott: "According to a major league owner, the Expos have
     requested to be with the Jays [in the American League] in an
     effort to boost attendance" (TORONTO SUN, 6/27)....In
     Edmonton, Pilon & Findlay report that NHL Oilers Owner Peter
     Pocklington has "raised his financial sights" in selling the
     team.  Pocklington, who has stated he hopes to keep the team
     in Edmonton, told Pilon & Findlay, "Obviously, the highest
     price will take the team" (EDMONTON SUN, 6/27).
