          PETER LEFCOURT's 1992 novel "The Dreyfus Affair," about
     a gay love affair between the shortstop and second baseman
     of an MLB team, has been optioned by Fox for BETTY THOMAS to
     direct in a deal worth in the mid-six figures (VARIETY,
     6/20)....Magic Owner RICH DEVOS has been released from a
     London hospital (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 6/24)....Agent HENRY
     THOMAS is profiled in the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES.  Thomas,
     President of Chicago-based Thomas Sports Management, has
     clients that include TIM HARDAWAY, LINDSEY HUNTER and
     MICHAEL FINLEY (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 6/23)....Former U.S.
     Olympic Hockey Coach DAVE PETERSON suffered a heart attack
     late Sunday afternoon.  He is currently undergoing tests at
     a Colorado Springs hospital and his family has requested
     that any messages be sent to USA Hockey's Int'l Dept at
