NAMES IN THE NEWS

          CORRECTION: Advertising Age misreported the
     circumstances of the departure of LISA HYMAN from Sports
     Illustrated in reports featured on its World Wide Web site,
     adage.com, in late February and early March, and cited by
     THE SPORTS BUSINESS DAILY.  Advertising Age has clarified
     that Lisa Hyman resigned from the magazine.  As part of its
     clarification, Advertising Age also stated that she sent
     personal e-mail messages to friends regarding the Sports
     Illustrated web site, but she did not engage in mass e-
     mailings as was reported on adage.com (AD AGE ONLINE,
     5/28)....A week after a heart transplant, Magic Owner RICH
     DEVOS continues to make "excellent progress" and could be
     discharged from Harefield Hospital in London as early as
     this weekend (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 6/12).....The tax evasion
     case against STEFFI GRAF was dropped (USA TODAY, 6/13).

NBC Olympics’ Molly Solomon, ESPN’s P.K. Subban, the Masters and more

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The second-ever MWC commissioner chats with SBJ’s Ross Nethery about her climb through the collegiate ranks. Nevarez is a member of SBJ’s Game Changers Class of 2019. Nevarez has had stints at the conference level in the Pac-12, West Coast Conference, and Mountain West Conference as well as at the college level at Oklahoma, Cal, and San Jose State. She shares stories of that journey as well as how being a former student-athlete guides her decision-making today.
