U.S. OPEN ON THE WEB: THE DAILY'S ROUND-UP OF CYBERACTION

          The U.S. Open at Congressional begins today and the
     following lists highlights of some golf-related World Wide
     Web sites and their coverage plans for the four-day event. 
          USOPEN.COM: The tournament's official site includes
     real-time scoring, detailed information about each hole,
     including layout and the more difficult aspects of the
     course.  The site includes a chat and merchandise area (THE
     DAILY).  IGOLF.COM: InterZine Production's iGOLF.com has
     extended its relationship with Taylor Made Golf for its U.S.
     Open coverage.  Taylor Made's sponsorship will include
     online reports throughout each day of the tournament; chat
     sessions with CBS Sports' Gary McCord; leaderboard updates;
     and an up-close examination of the course (AD AGE, 6/12). 
     InterZine Productions publishes THE SPORTS BUSINESS DAILY.
          OTHER SITES: GOLFWEB.COM: Site highlights include
     exclusive daily diaries by Jack Nicklaus and Nick Price as
     well as Tiger Woods' scorecard hole-by-hole.  
     GOLFONLINE.COM: The site features Curtis Strange's U.S. Open 
     Tournament Diary.  ESPN SPORTSZONE: Full slate of U.S. Open
     news, including archival history on the tournament. 
     CBS.SPORTSLINE will include a Tiger watch; exclusive columns
     and editorials; and expert commentary, among other features. 
     Other sites with extensive U.S. Open coverage include
     golf.com and pgatour.com (THE DAILY).
