STADIUM NOTES

          The Indianapolis City-County Council "overwhelmingly
agreed" to increase the hotel-motel tax and auto rental tax
and expand the 5% ticket tax. The extra income is "expected
to allow" for a new Pacers arena, and a remodeling of the
RCA Dome (INDIANAPOLIS STAR-NEWS, 6/10)....Broward County
administrators have "found" about $96M worth of work that
could be "performed by female-and minority-owned" firms
after reviewing the construction budget for the NHL
Panthers' new arena. The figure is $31M more than what
arena builders had "come up with" (MIAMI HERALD, 6/11).
