REDSKINS HAVE HIGH-PRICED SEATS AVAILABLE AT NEW STADIUM

The Redskins have not sold approximately 4,000 of the
highest-priced seats in the new 78,600-seat Jack Kent Cooke
Stadium, according to Richard Justice in the WASHINGTON
POST. The 60,000 general seating tickets in the new
stadium, priced from $55-$60 per game, are sold out. The
unsold seats, ranging in price from $1,395 to $2,495 for the
eight-game home season, or $174-$312 per game, are the
tickets the Redskins have had "trouble" selling, "even to
long-suffering fans who have been on the waiting list for
decades." In order to purchase the seats, fans must sign a
lease for five, seven or ten years. Also, the Redskins are
charging $15 per game for parking. Justice adds that not
all of the 208 luxury suites in the new stadium have been
leased. The team has purchased full-page ads in five area
Sunday newspapers telling fans a limited number of seats are
still available. Team President John Kent Cooke said he
remains "confident" all the remaining seats will sell
     (WASHINGTON POST, 5/30).
