FRANCHISE NOTES

Nancy Irsay, the widow of former Colts Owner Robert
Irsay, filed a petition in a Hamilton County, OH, court
yesterday to revoke the sale of half the team's stock to
     Irsay's son and ex-wife (AP/STAR-NEWS, 5/14)....In Ft.
Lauderdale, Larry Lebowitz notes Heat officials "may have
cost themselves goodwill with the ticket-buying public by
raising Game 5 tickets as much as 263 percent without
notice." Announced attendance at Miami Arena for the Heat-
Knicks game last night was 14,782; 200 shy of a sell out
(SUN-SENTINEL, 5/15)....In Montreal, Jack Todd: "This is the
watershed season for the Expos. This is the year [President
& General Partner] Claude Brochu will announce that they are
building a new downtown ball park or he will announce that
they are leaving town. ... Sooner rather than later, they
are going to have to find a way to keep their stars on the
field. ... there's no point laying the foundation for a new
ball park if you don't lay the foundation for your club at
the same time" (Montreal GAZETTE, 5/15).
