Facilities Venues

STADIUM NOTES

In Football Northwest's plan to show that a proposed
new Seahawks stadium would be a multi-use facility,
statewide newspaper ads broke Monday touting the proposed
stadium as a potential venue for pro and amateur soccer,
trade shows and community festivals (SEATTLE TIMES,
5/13)....An editorial in today's Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE,
on the failure of a Twins ballpark financing bill: "What the
stadium issue has revealed at the State Capitol this year is
the Minnesota Legislature at its worst. ... this was an
accident that had waited almost the entire session to happen
-- the unintended consequence of 19 weeks of leaderless
confusion, timidity and hypocrisy" (Minneapolis STAR
TRIBUNE, 5/14)....OH-based Huntington National Bank is
donating $5M to the construction of OSU's Schottenstein
Center for naming rights to one of the arena's main
     concourses (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 5/13).
