MEDIA NOTES

In N.Y., Richard Sandomir, on the upcoming NBA TV
rights negotiations: "For NBC, the N.B.A. is like 'Seinfeld'
-- crucial, centerpiece programming that it can hardly
afford to lose. The N.B.A. was a critical building block in
NBC's climb to becoming the most powerful broadcast sports
division. ... For Turner, the N.B.A., like the N.F.L., is
must-have programming. In sheer numbers, TNT and TBS are
more the networks of the N.B.A. than NBC" (N.Y. TIMES,
5/13)....ESPN's Keith Olbermann, who returns to
"SportsCenter" tonight, on his recent time off: "Everybody
sees things a lot more clearly now, from both sides. It's
been a very educational time" (Baltimore SUN, 5/13).
