          U.S. Secretary of State MADELEINE ALBRIGHT threw out the
     first pitch at Opening Day at Camden Yards before the Royals-
     Orioles game.  Albright, who bounced her throw short of
     catcher Chris Hoiles: "I think I'll stick to my day job. 
     When you're 5 feet 2 you tend to throw short" (WASHINGTON
     POST, 4/3)....A highway overpass near Kauffman Stadium will
     be closed for a half-hour Monday morning as the stretch of
     road is named the GEORGE BRETT Bridge (WASHINGTON POST, 4/3).
     ...Bulls coach PHIL JACKSON, on MICHAEL JORDAN's and SCOTTIE
     PIPPEN's reluctance to go the White House: "They said, 'What
     do we have to go see the President and first lady for in the
     White House?  We saw them in our locker room.  They came to
     see us.  Why should Mohammad go to the mountain when the
     mountain came to Mohammad?'" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 4/3).
