TBS SPREADING GOODWILL (GAMES) TOWARDS BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS

TBS Superstation and the '98 Goodwill Games will launch
a "SuperChallenge" campaign to "encourage the public to give
1 million hours of volunteer time and $1 million to the Boys
& Girls Clubs," according to Maria Saporta of the ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION. The Goodwill Games will give the organization
$1 for every volunteer hour. The Games is changing its
focus from U.S-Russian relations since the end of the Cold
War to helping children. The SuperChallenge's largest
corporate support has come from Coca-Cola, which has pledged
to help the clubs raise $60M over the next ten years. Nike
agreed to sponsor a $5M, five-year effort to "help the clubs
train volunteer coaches and establish sports programs
primarily in inner-city areas" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 4/24).
