MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

USA TODAY's Ad Track noted that more than 30% of those
surveyed said they like Snickers BBDO ads carrying the
theme, "Hungry? Why Wait?," featuring the Bullets' Gheorghe
Muresan "a lot," making the campaign among the ten most
popular ads measured in the last year (USA TODAY, 4/21).
...Yankees Owner George Steinbrenner noticed Yankees 3B Wade
Boggs wearing a turtleneck with a Nike logo during Friday's
game. Steinbrenner called the clubhouse and asked that
Boggs remove the shirt. The Yankees have a $95M endorsement
deal with adidas (N.Y. TIMES, 4/20)....Red Sox 3B Tim
Naehring is talking with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino about
building another "Little Fenway" youth field in Boston,
similar to the one he has built in Cincinnati, OH, which he
would donate to the city. Naehring is still looking to line
up corporate sponsors, but the project "may get a go-ahead"
by the end of the summer. Interested sponsors should
contact Woolf Associates in Boston (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/20).
CORRECTION: THE DAILY misidentified the status of two
partners in the new hockey consulting firm, the Goal Group.
Stars VP/Business Ops & General Counsel Len Perna and
Blackhawks VP/Marketing Peter Wirtz will remain in their
current positions, respectively, but will also contribute to
the Goal Group. THE DAILY regrets the error.
