GOLF WRITER LARRY DORMAN SET TO BECOME VP AT CALLAWAY

          LARRY DORMAN, currently chief golf correspondent for
     the N.Y. Times and contributing editor of Golf Digest, has
     joined Callaway Golf Company as VP/Advertising, Press and
     Public Relations, effective immediately.  Callaway CEO
     DONALD DYE said company founder ELY CALLAWAY and Dorman will
     "be responsible for the handling of press and public
     relations, as well as for the supervision and coordination
     of the company's corporate and product advertising in all
     areas."  Dye also announced that Ely Callaway has extended
     his employment agreement with the company to the year 2000. 
     Dorman has been on leave from the N.Y. Times for the past
     three months working on Ely Callaway's autobiography,
     scheduled for release in '98 (Callaway Golf).
