SCHOTT CLARIFIES PREFERENCE FOR SITE OF REDS' NEW STADIUM

Reds Owner Marge Schott said there is "no way" she
wants the team's new ballpark built on the Cincinnati
riverfront's Wedge site, according to Hobson & Sullivan in
the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. Reds GM Jim Bowden: "We've said in
all the negotiating sessions that the site is not
negotiable. Mrs. Schott has been very clear that the site
she wants is the site west of the Roebling bridge." The
Wedge sits east of the bridge, between Riverfront Coliseum
and Cinergy Field. But Hobson & Sullivan note Schott's
comments "run counter to the posture" of Reds Managing Exec
John Allen, who has said that the Wedge "is intriguing if
the engineers can make it work" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 4/12).
