MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

AD AGE's Bob Garfield reviews the Santa Monica, CA-
based Suissa Miller's Boston Market ads featuring ESPN's
Keith Olbermann, calling them a "true delight." Garfield:
"The casting is inspired, a perfect use of Olbermann, whose
sardonic irreverence is just the thing to burst the gigantic
soap bubble of expressionist pretentiousness in ads of the
Obsession ilk" (AD AGE, 3/16)....Converse Inc. said it
confiscated approximately 25,000 pairs of counterfeit canvas
All Star sneakers from L.A.-based American Shoe Corp.
(Converse)....In Dallas, Randy Galloway writes on Nike Chair
Phil Knight "blasting" MLB owners for the Yankees-adidas
$95M marketing deal. Galloway: "Of all the slimy creatures
that crawl daily through the world of sports, at the moment,
I'm having a difficult time finding one that could be more
greased than Phil" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 3/16).
