ROCKETS BLAST OFF TO GENERATION NEXT WITH PEPSI DEAL

          The Rockets have joined with Pepsi-Cola for "a wide-
     ranging multiyear sponsorship agreement," according to Eddie
     Sefko of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE.  The deal makes PepsiCo
     brand soft drinks the "official soft drinks of the Rockets"
     outside The Summit, which has "its own licensing agreements
     with various companies."  PepsiCo can also use the team's
     trademarks on "advertising, packaging, merchandise, etc.,"
     as well as become the exclusive soft drink advertiser on
     Rockets game broadcasts (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 3/9).
