MLB TEAM MEDIA NOTES: BLUE JAYS INK TSN DEAL

The Blue Jays and TSN have officially signed a cable-TV
deal for the next five years, according to Marty York of the
Toronto GLOBE & MAIL. The deal is "not as lucrative" for
the team as the previous five-year deal with TSN, as sources
put the deal at C$45M. The last contract was worth C$50M.
The deal gives TSN the rights to broadcast 400 regular-
season games, 80 each season (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 2/28).
ROCKIES: The Rockies and Fox Sports Rocky Mountain
(FSR) announced a deal that will make FSR the Rockies' TV
home "basically for ten years," according to Todd Phipers of
the DENVER POST. Rockies VP/Business Ops Keli McGregor said
that the deal is "basically" for ten years, although there
is an escape clause after five years. Starting this season,
all Rockies telecasts will be produced by Mountain Mobile, a
production company co-owned by FSR, Colorado Studios and
Ascent, whose Avalanche and Nuggets also have cable deals
with FSR (Todd Phipers, DENVER POST, 2/27).
