STADIUM NOTES

          The RCA Dome may be changing names "if some members of
     Indianapolis' City Council have their way."  They want RCA
     signs removed from the stadium to protest parent company
     Thomson Consumer Electronics' moving 1,500 IN jobs to Mexico
     (USA TODAY, 2/17)....Mike Lupica reports the USTA's Board of
     Directors will name its new stadium "Arthur Ashe Stadium." 
     The announcement could come this week (N.Y. DAILY NEWS,
     2/18)....The St. Paul Civic Center Authority "continued
     efforts to prepare" for an NHL team when it "authorized
     additional payments to construction consultants Friday." 
     The authority allocated $50,000 to HOK Architects to
     continue work on a design for a renovated Civic Center arena
     (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/15)....Tampa officials say that
     when reserve funds are set and other charges are paid, the
     bill for a new stadium and practice complex for the Bucs
     will be $208.7M, "about" $40M more than first negotiated. 
     The extra charges include $12M towards a practice facility,
     $2.8M in fees for issuing bonds, $12.8M to set up a reserve
     fund for debt service, and $3.4M in interest (TAMPA TRIBUNE,
     2/15)....Turner Broadcasting selected the architectural firm
     Rosser International to design $72M in public improvements
     around its new arena (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 2/18).
