STADIUM NOTES

          C.C. Filson Co., a manufacturer of outdoor clothing and
     luggage, has agreed to sell its property near the Kingdome
     to clear the way for a new Mariners ballpark (SEATTLE TIMES,
     1/29)....Federal agents raided the construction site of the
     new Redskins stadium yesterday and arrested 19 workers
     suspected of being in the country illegally (WASHINGTON
     POST, 1/30)....A report showed that TX State Rep. Kim
     Brimer's sports facility finance bill could generate $93M a
     year in sales and hotel tax increases for the city of Dallas
     (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 1/30)....In Miami, among plans for the
     site of the Heat's new bayfront arena are three museums,
     berths for four ships, an IMAX theater and new parks.  But
     the HERALD's Peter Whoriskey notes: "One big problem: They
     won't all fit" (MIAMI HERALD, 1/30)....Starting next year,
     the Expos and Cardinals will share a new spring training and
     minor league facility in Jupiter, FL. The teams will pay for
     cost over-runs, assume all operating expenses and retain all
     operating revenues at the $27.5M, 6,700-seat facility
     (TORONTO SUN, 1/29)....The Cotton Bowl Dome Foundation
     President Darrell Jordan said that skepticism that greeted
     the Cotton Dome concept "is waning."  Putting a roof over
     Fair Park stadium, a $150M project, would be paid for by
     corporate and private foundation backing.  Philadelphia-
     based Network Int'l has been hired to find a title sponsor
     of the facility (DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL, 1/27 issue).
