INTERZINE CREATES NEW INTERACTIVE COMMUNITY FOR GOLF FANS

InterZine Productions has entered into a joint venture
with Richmond, VA-based sports management and marketing firm
Pros Inc. and online search tool GolfSearch (www.golfsearch.
com) to create Tour Golf Club (www.tourgolfclub.com), the
first interactive community of pro golfers. Tour Golf Club
features articles, interviews, photo albums and audio and
video clips of golfers such as Tom Kite, Davis Love III,
Lanny Wadkins, Beth Daniel and Meg Mallon. The pros will
participate in chat sessions and give their reviews on golf
     courses throughout the world (InterZine).
ON THE LINKS: GOLFWEEK's Sal Johnson reviews PGATour
.com, the PGA Tour's official web site. Johnson: "A fair
critique of PGATour.com can't be made at this time. If it
could be, then I would have to give it a low grade. But
with the reputation of the PGA Tour on the line ... I'll
wait a couple of months before passing judgment" (GOLFWEEK,
1/25 issue)....GolfWeb is profiled by Kenneth Howe in
today's S.F. CHRONICLE. The web site earned more than
$600,000 in revenues last year and is "close to turning a
profit. Over 70% of revenue is from ads and the remaining
30% comes from the 20% "margin the company earns from
selling golf gear through its online pro shop." In the
future, GolfWeb may charge for classified and by "licensing
     other sites" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 1/28).
