ESPN/CHILTON SPORTS POLL: FANS PREFERENCES ON SUPER BOWL

          ESPN/Chilton interviewed U.S. 12+ population January 1,
     '96-January 2, '97, on fan preferences for the Packers and
     Patriots.  15,126 respondents; percentages are weighted.  In
     all of '96, the Packers ranked as the 3rd favorite NFL team,
     while the Pats are 15th.  The Pats moved from 18th to 11th
     as favorite NFL team from the beginning of the '96-97 season
     until now, with a .6% interest increase.  The Packers moved
     from 5th to 3rd, and earned a 3.0% increase.  44% of
     Patriots fans live in Boston, and 80% live in the Northeast. 
     Only 25% of Packers fans live in Green Bay, and just over
     50% live in the Midwest.  California has the third highest
     number of Packer fans in the U.S. and the rest of the fan
     base is spread throughout the U.S. (THE DAILY).
