          The second year of the Corel WTA Tour int'l TV package
     begins this week with the semi-finals and finals of the
     Sydney International in Australia.  The package includes 21
     events, 14 broadcasters and worldwide viewership of over 170
     million homes, an increase of close to 200% from when it
     launched in February '96 (WTA Tour)....TNT acquired cable
     rights for live third-round coverage of the Bob Hope
     Chrysler Classic.  TNT will work with NBC, which is
     producing the coverage (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/10)....In an
     interview yesterday, Time Warner Chair Gerald Levin said the
     company's cash flow would increase at a "very solid double-
     digit" rate in '97, "providing the company with the highest
     growth rate in Time Warner history" (WALL STREET JOURNAL,
     1/10). ...Comcast Corp., owners of the 76ers, Flyers and
     CoreStates Center, has won the right to buy control of E!
     Entertainment TV for about $310M from majority owner Time
     Warner (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 1/10)....Kyodo News will
     distribute a series of reports on Japanese baseball to MLB
     teams.  Under terms of the deal, Kyodo will provide weekly
     statistics on players' performance (Kyodo News)....Warner
     Wolf is reportedly returning to WCBS-TV in New York, four
     years after resigning from the station (N.Y. TIMES,
     1/10)....The Brewers have approached Tony Kubek about
     joining their TV broadcast team (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL,
     1/10)....In Washington, "word is out" that the Bullets are
     "intrigued" about the possibility of having Fox host James
     Brown broadcasts some of the team's home games, replacing
     Mel Proctor, who has moved on to the Padres.  Brown is said
     to be interested in doing play-by-play (WASHINGTON POST,
     1/10)....SportSouth will become Fox Sports South on January
     21, becoming the eighth O&O for Fox Sports Net (Fox Sports).
