O' LITTLE SECTION OF LEAGUE NOTES

          MLS' Columbus, New England, Tampa Bay, Washington D.C.
     and Kansas City franchises will raise ticket prices in '97,
     with Colorado the only team who will drop ticket prices. 
     The '96 MLS average seat was $12.95 (USA TODAY, 12/20)..
     ..The first of 214 MLB interleague games in '97 will begin
     June 12 (MLB)....The Miller Lite/AVP Tour Championships will
     be held August 28-September 1 at the new Walt Disney's Wide
     World of Sports complex in Orlando.  NBC will televise the
     finals (ISI)....In Toronto, Neil Campbell examines the
     clutch and grab, defensive style of play employed by some
     NHL teams, calling Wednesday's 2-1 Devils-Canucks game "a
     travesty, waste of money, disgrace, boring, worse than
     watching grass grow. ... Make the game faster.  Make it
     easier for those that are blessed with skill.  And if you
     were among the 16,313 who suffered at GM Place on Wednesday
     ... demand a refund" (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 12/20).
