WARM UP THE DAWGS: BROWNS TICKETS GO ON SALE TODAY

Former Browns season-ticket holders will begin
receiving brochures for 8,000 club seats for the new stadium
in Cleveland, a sale "considered the deal-maker -- or maybe
the deal-breaker" in the city's agreement with the NFL,
according to David Adams of the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL. Sales
begin today of the seats, priced between $100-235 per game,
in three, five and seven-year lease commitments, plus a one-
time PSL fee of $1,000. Payments can be spread out, with
the first due by January 31, the second in March '98, and
the last expected by March '99. Cincinnati-based Star Bank,
the club seat sponsor, will offer fans "competitive rates"
on loans to pay for tickets and PSLs. Season-ticket holders
have until January 10 to buy club seats, before sales open
to the public on January 13 (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 12/18).
