MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

Restaurant chain House of Blues will produce this
year's Super Bowl halftime show, with ZZ Top expected to be
the main act. House of Blues also plans to issue "at least"
     two NFL-tied CDs (BRANDWEEK, 12/16 issue).....Harlem
Globetrotters Owner Manny Jackson is profiled in the N.Y.
TIMES by William Rhoden. Jackson said he has even talked to
Michael Jordan about the concept of the Globetrotters: "I
told him that we could have some fun; that there's not a
place that you couldn't fill up. We could play every team
in the world and make a lot of money. We'd be on
television. Pay-per-view. You could change the way people
think about basketball. Forget owning an NBA team, let's
take this franchise, get three or four others and let's
barnstorm. Globetrotter versus an NBA All-Star team; or a
European All-Star team on pay-per-view. We could challenge
     the world" (N.Y. TIMES, 12/17).
