BRANDWEEK ROUND-UP: WB SPORT SIGNS ATHLETES AND LICENSEES

          AmEx will team with Champs Sports as retail distributor
     of entry blanks for its AmEx $1M shot promo at the NBA All-
     Star Game....WB Sports has signed the Eagles' William Fuller
     and the Rockies' Andres Galaraga.  New licensees include ACI
     for footwear, At-A-Glance for school products, Exquisite
     Apparel for ties and boxers, Fotoball USA for inflatables
     and collectibles, GSI for watches, and Signature Group and
     Topkat for headwear....CA-based MGI will introduce a line of
     soap-on-a-rope, shampoo, after shave and hair care products
     with NFL logos....Despite sale talks on their beverage
     business proceeding, Quaker plans to introduce a "Gatorade
     Frost" sports drink in January, in Whitewater Splash, Alpine
     Snow and Glacier Freeze flavors (BRANDWEEK, 12/9). 
          ADWEEK NOTES: Fruit of the Loom's Pro Player sports
     apparel division has launched a review of its ad account. 
     Bates USA, New York, currently handles the $10M account....A
     new adidas ad by Leagas Delaney, San Francisco, launches
     this week.  It stars Troy Aikman and is part of the reported
     $10M adidas is spending on U.S. advertising this
     year....L.A. Gear President Bruce MacGregor says the company
     expects to "trim" marketing dollars for endorsements.  Past
     L.A. Gear endorsers include Wayne Gretzky, Brett Hull, Mark
     Messier and Karl Malone (ADWEEK, 12/9).
