STADIUM NOTES

In L.A., developers of a proposed downtown sports arena
said Monday that their planned September '99 opening "seems
increasingly unlikely," given the lengthy negotiations with
city officials and the steps necessary before they know if
they have a deal. Attorney George Mihlsten, lead negotiator
for Kings Owners Edward Roski and Philip Anschutz, said he
believes the City Council is close to signing off on the
deal, but predicted it will be another several months before
developers know for sure whether they can proceed (L.A.
TIMES, 12/10)....The Indianapolis Capital Improvement Board
wants to spend $1.4M on a new turf for the Colts
     (INDIANAPOLIS STAR-NEWS, 12/9).
