DECISION DAY: Dade County voters will decide today whether
an arena should be built on Biscayne Bay for the Heat. In
Detroit, Wayne County voters decide on Proposition S, a
referendum on county tourism taxes on hotel rooms and rental
vehicles. Revenue would be appropriated to the construction of
side-by-side downtown facilities for the Lions and Tigers
(DETROIT NEWS, 11/5).
STADIUM NOTES: In Atlanta, the Atlanta-Fulton County
Recreation Authority has scheduled a special meeting today to
consider the deal with TBS for a $215M downtown arena. (ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 11/5)....In New York, Michael Lewis notes U.S.
Soccer Federation officials say that Giants Stadium is under
consideration to host a World Cup qualifying game next year (N.Y.
