     On the heels of two top Texaco execs allegedly using racial
slurs, OLDEN POLYNICE of the Kings refused to sit in a chair by
the Kings bench in Salt Lake City that was sponsored by Texaco.
Delta Center personnel found him a new chair; his teammates
covered the Texaco emblems on their chairs with towels (SALT LAKE
TRIBUNE, 11/14)....RONNIE LOTT and former Raiders Trainer GEORGE
ANDERSON are principals in Cleveland, TN-based Bio Magnetics
International (BMI) which uses magnetic field therapy to help
injuries heal faster (BMI)....The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence
honors ABE POLLIN tonight in Washington, DC for spearheading the
Bullets name change to Wizards (WASHINGTON POST, 11/14).. ..S.F.
Mayor WILLIE BROWN's office was "swamped with hundreds of
critical phone calls" yesterday after his criticism in Paris of
49ers QB ELVIS GRBAC.  In Paris, Brown "seem unruffled" that he
had turned an "upbeat goodwill trip into the worst public
relations disaster of his term" (S.F. CHRONICLE,
11/14)....PATRICK EWING appeared on the "Late Show" with DAVID
LETTERMAN.  Ewing, on the NBA's new CBA:  "With the new
Collective Bargaining Agreement, it's now that the superstars are
going to be the ones getting paid and there's no middle class
anymore.  It's unfortunate, but that's the way it is" ("Late
Show," CBS, 11/13)....New CBA Commissioner STEVE PATTERSON is
profiled in USA TODAY.  Patterson, on plans for a deal with the
NBA/NBPA to develop a minor league system: "It's long overdue and
absolutely critical to our long-range success" (USA TODAY,
11/13).
