BROWNS RELEASE SUITE SALES UPDATE

The City of Cleveland, NFL and Browns said yesterday that in
less than two weeks of sales, companies and individuals have made
commitments to purchase 72 of the 108 luxury suites for the
proposed new Cleveland football stadium. The prices range in
price from $60,000-125,000 per year. Cleveland Mayor Michael
White: "The overwhelming response to the Cleveland Browns Stadium
suites brings this segment of the project close to the financial
commitment level from the Cleveland corporate community required
for the NFL's assistance in funding new stadium construction."
The suite sales program is part of an deal with the NFL that
requires the city business community to purchase leases of at
least $9,422,000 prior to January 31, 1997, as a prerequisite for
the NFL's contribution to stadium construction, which could reach
$48M. The next phase of the stadium marketing program is the
sale of 8,000 club seats, which begins in mid-November, with a
priority mailing to previous Browns season ticket holders (City
of Cleveland).
