HILL HAS SOME HARSH WORDS FOR FELLOW OLYMPIANS

GRANT HILL's Olympic experience in Atlanta is profiled by
Charlie Vincent of the DETROIT FREE PRESS. Hill came back from
the event "disillusioned and then emboldened," as the Dream Team
"experience shattered the illusions of his youth, sapped him of
his idols and convincer him that not only is he worthy of playing
with them --- because of the lack of work ethic he saw -- he was
better than most of them." Hill: "In practices, guys weren't
going hard and the focus wasn't on the game. It's unfortunate.
The Olympics should be something special, something you cherish."
More Hill: "A lot of negative stuff was written about our
attitude and how we conducted ourselves, and almost everything
that was written was accurate. It was a disappointment because
these were guys I'd looked up to and dreamed of playing against.
... At times I felt like was the most mature guy there, though I
was one of the youngest. ... I came away from that more grown up,
with less respect for them as players and people" (DETROIT FREE
PRESS, 10/19).
