MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

     Bud Ice and the Blackhawks inked a packaging agreement for
the '96-97 season. The Blackhawks logo and team colors will be on
packaging of 12-ounce bottles of Bud Ice until the end of the
year.  Bud Ice will extend its package design to 17 U.S. NHL
markets (Blackhawks)....LaSalle Banks has "quietly committed" to
an "at least" a ten year sponsorship of the Chicago Marathon
(CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 10/20). ...Hooters will not return as a
NASCAR Winston Cup sponsor in '97.  Instead, the company will put
its money into the USA Hooters late model stock series, a Hooters
national touring circuit founded in '95 (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
10/19)....Peter Vecsey notes Nike and Anfernee Hardaway are "in
conflict" over who owns the marketing rights to a proposed Lil'
Penny doll (N.Y. POST, 10/20)....Reebok signed a six-year deal as
an official sponsor of Pop Warner Little Scholars, a U.S.
national youth football and cheerleading organization (Pop
Warner)....The Bullets' Chris Webber, who wore Nikes in college
and the first three years of his pro career, has been wearing
Converse shoes this week.  Webber said he is "liking them more
than I thought," and Webber could "switch for the season"
(WASHINGTON POST, 10/19).
