WALKER AND O'NEAL JOIN THE CAVALCADE OF ADIDAS STARS

Adidas has signed endorsement deals with Celtics first-round draft pick Antoine Walker and Trail Blazers first-round draft pick Jermaine O'Neal. Terms of the multi-year agreements were not disclosed, but adidas said Walker and O'Neal would play immediate roles in the "Feet You Wear" marketing effort. Walker will promote the "Equipment Top Ten 2010" shoe, while O'Neal will help market the "Equipment Rim Reaper" shoe (adidas). Adidas Spokesperson Chris Persinger told THE DAILY the "Top Ten 2010" line will hit in December, with the "Equipment Rim Reaper" available in early '97. Persinger said adidas is eyeing a "significant presence" in the NBA, and other sports, which explains the recent signings of Kobe Bryant, Keyshawn Johnson, Tyus Edney, Walker, O'Neal, and the Univ. of Nebraska football team. Persinger notes their aim is "not to have 100 NBA players," but rather to become a sports "icon" (THE DAILY).
