Even though the Jaguars are enjoying only "moderate success
on the field," the players are finding themselves in "great
demand," according to Earl Daniels of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION.
Team quarterback Mark Brunell "is everywhere," doing TV
commercials for First Union Bank, Burger King, Safe Touch
Security Systems, All-Safe Paging Systems and local Chevrolet
deals. Brunell, who is making "about $250,000" from all his
deals, also has his own show, "The Mark Brunell Big Cat Gridiron
Show," every Monday on WJXT-TV. Rookie linebacker Kevin Hardy
can be seen in a national Degree antiperspirant ad and is
expected to appear in commercials for All-Sport, Burger King, and
a local Jaguar dealership. Wide receiver Willie Jackson,
defensive lineman Jeff Lageman and defensive tackle John Jurkovic
are also the focal point of several local campaigns. Local
marketing exec Rebecca Jackson says the Jags are the "biggest
thing to hit this city," as local businesses look to take
advantage being home to an NFL franchise (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION,
9/16).
