OLYMPIC NEWS & NOTES: TRAFFIC RETURNS; JORDAN DROPS IN

     Traffic problems in Atlanta continued as more commuters took
to the roads.  State traffic engineer Marion Waters issued
another plea for people to avoid driving, especially by
themselves (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 7/30)....Ticket sales remain
strong as 17,000 tickets were sold on Monday with another 8,000
expected in walk-up sales.  Attendance rates are around
90%....The temporary closing of Centennial Olympic Park will
result in at least $2M in lost revenue, a fact ACOG COO A.D.
Frazier called "trivial."  Frazier also said there have been 99
million hits on ACOG's Web site, with 9 million on Sunday alone
(ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 7/30). ....The FBI has increased its
spending estimate to $22M, up from a budgeted $11.5M.  The U.S.
government estimates it will spend $227M on Games-related
activities (ATLANTA BUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/29 issue)....Michael
Jordan was in town yesterday to address 500 guests of Sara Lee
Corp., an ACOG sponsor and Jordan endorsee (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
7/30).
