OSCEOLA COUNTY MIGHT NOT HAVE THE BUCS FOR NEW DIGS

Unless neighboring Orange County can contribute up to $3M a
year, Osceola County may not be able to complete a backup stadium
deal to bring the Bucs to Central FL, according to Joe Henderson
of the TAMPA TRIBUNE. Orlando Area Sports Commission Chair Randy
Johnson said they need "a partner in the range" of $2M to $3M,
adding "we're trying to creatively induce Orange County to
participate." Orange County Commission Chair Linda Chapin said
if Osceola got "real close," she would consider aid, but now, the
"answer is no." Osceola County Commission Chair Charles Owen
said if financing is not completed by the end of July, they might
"drop their stadium plans" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 7/19).
