VIKINGS' HEAD TO REMAIN: HEADRICK GETS CONFIDENCE VOTE

Vikings owners gave team President Roger Headrick a
unanimous vote of confidence on Tuesday, according to Curt Brown
of the Minneapolis STAR-TRIBUNE. KSTP-TV had predicted a no-
confidence vote, a story Headrick called "totally false." John
Skoglund, Chair of the Vikings' 10-member ownership group: "He's
our man." Despite the vote, one owner still cited "strong
differences of opinion." have caused "rifts at recent meetings."
Questions remain about a civil suit and sealed court case
involving Vikings Coach Dennis Green and a Twin Cities woman.
Skoglund: "We're trying to find out everything we can so we can
enhance the image of this football team in the community and the
league. We don't like the case, but until we find out what it
is, we really can't speculate on how severe it is" (Minneapolis
STAR TRIBUNE, 7/17). ESPN's Shelly Smith said the suit, sealed
by the presiding judge, is not employment related nor a case of
sexual harassment ("SportsCenter," 7/16).
