      San Francisco-based GGP announced its "NFL Pre-Season
Special" is cleared to air on over 150 TV stations nationwide
between August 16 and September 1 (GGP)....Prime Sports Southwest
will air a variety of Cowboys programming for the first time this
season.  Regular shows include:  "Training Camp '96"; "The Bill
Bates Spotlight"; "The Chad Hennings & Darren Woodson Show"; and
Barry Switzer's weekly press conference (Prime)....Sports
Illustrated Presents' "Pro Football '96" hit the newsstands
yesterday.  The 195-page magazine has a cover price of $5.95 and
bears 16 different regional covers (SI Presents)....SportsChannel
Chicago has purchased the rights to all 100 Bulls '95-96 regular
season and post-season games from the NBA and is replaying one a
day through October 11 (CABLE WORLD, 7/15). ....With 80-85% of
the '96 cable TV upfront market complete, industry experts say
sales will reach $2B, 15-20% higher than last year (BROADCASTING
& CABLE, 7/15)....ESPN will present a primetime mini-series on
the Brooklyn Dodgers beginning August 27 (ESPN)....SI FOR KIDS
and sponsor Nike hope to reach the young female audience with
"Girls and Sports Extra" (N.Y. TIMES, 7/15)....MLS has debuted
its official Web site at http://www.MLSNET.com (MLS)....Nielsen
overnights show that the Isuzu Celebrity Golf Championship on NBC
averaged a 2.8 for the weekend, while the Senior Players
Championship on ABC averaged a 2.7 (NBC Sports).
