NEW MARKETS TO CONQUER FOR BILLS AND WHALERS

Former Browns QB Bernie Kosar will join Bills Owner Ralph
Wilson and Browns alumni in Cleveland on July 16 to promote what
is being billed as "a salute to football fans" in Cleveland -- a
November 17 game between the Bengals and Bills in Buffalo,
according to BUSINESS FIRST OF BUFFALO. Bills Dir of Marketing
John Livsey says the team is working with the Cleveland
Convention and Visitors Bureau to promote the concept. Kosar has
expressed interest in being part of an ownership group when
Cleveland is awarded another NFL franchise (BUSINESS FIRST OF
BUFFALO, 7/15).
NEW FAN HAVEN? The Whalers announced they will hold their
training camp in New Haven. Whalers GM Jim Rutherford: "Over
the years the Whalers have not reached out to our neighbors here
and in the big puzzle that has to be put together" (HARTFORD
COURANT, 7/16).
