     A German court has given the go-ahead for prosecution of
PETER GRAF on tax evasion charges.  He is accused of failing to
report $27.6M of his daughter, STEFFI GRAF's, earnings between
'89-93 (FINANCIAL TIMES, 7/13)....Former Sabres GM & Exec VP
GERRY MEEHAN is attempting to land the marketing and TV rights
for the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (BUFFALO BUSINESS FIRST,
7/12)....Cowboys Owner JERRY JONES allegedly allowed a PAC he
funds to pay Irving, TX, high school athletes to gather
signatures to force a referendum on a one-cent Dallas Area Rapid
Transit sales tax.  Jones would prefer a sales tax help to
improve Texas Stadium (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 7/13)....MALVAI
WASHINGTON appeared as a guest on the "Late Show."  Washington
and DAVID LETTERMAN ate nachos and salsa off his Wimbledon
runner-up plate (CBS, 7/12)....SHAQUILLE O'NEAL will play a
"street gang-fighting super hero" in "Steel," a film based on a
DC Comic.  Production begins in August ("ET," 7/12).
