PITTSBURGH-BASED IBL SIGNS PILSON COMMUNICATIONS FOR TV DEAL

     In a "bid for respectability for his fledgling International
Basketball League," Pittsburgh sports exec Paul Murtha announced
the signing of former CBS Sports President Neal Pilson as a TV
consultant, according to Steve Halvonik of the PITTSBURGH POST-
GAZETTE.  Pilson will help the minor-league pro basketball
league, set to begin in the fall of '97, negotiate domestic and
foreign broadcasting contracts.  Pilson, head of Pilson
Communications, said the IBL "will be an attractive selling tool
to networks and national cable outlets if we position it the
right way."  Terms were not disclosed (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE,
7/11).
