RIVERFRONT RENOVATION STILL AN OPTION

Although Hamilton County, OH, officials are proceeding with
plans for a "Camden Yards-style ballpark" for the Reds, sources
say renovating Riverfront Stadium as a baseball-only stadium
remains an option. Steven Goodin of the CINCINNATI BUSINESS
COURIER reports, if the Reds continue with plans for a new
stadium west of Riverfront, the team would be expected to make a
contribution similar to $25-30M Bengals Owner Mike Brown has put
toward his team's new stadium. City Council Member Nick Vehr:
"The concept of refurbishing Riverfront has always been on the
table. It's my belief that what is a mediocre facility for two
teams could work very well for just one" (CINCINNATI BUSINESS
COURIER, 6/24).
