PRIVATE LANDOWNERS STEP UP TO THE PLATE IN NORTHERN VA

One week after deciding to accept land offers for a $300M
ballpark from private interests, the VA Stadium Authority has
received a half-dozen such bids, according to the WASHINGTON
POST. The potential sites, located in eastern Loudoun, western
Fairfax and Prince William Counties, were not considered during
an earlier search which "collapsed" when no local government
nominated a stadium site (Michael Shear, WASHINGTON POST, 6/22).
Authority officials say the earliest a site could be chosen is
October (John Lombardo, WASHINGTON BUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/21).
