LEAGUE NOTES

The Teenage Professional Basketball League, founded by
Freddie Cleveland, is profiled in today's CHICAGO TRIBUNE. The
league expects to have 10 teams in eight cities and to begin play
in July '97. Cleveland is targeting high school players who did
not qualify academically for a college scholarship. He also is
promising six-figure salaries, a shoe contract with Converse and
a clothing line. But a Converse spokesperson said "there is no
contract and that Converse is simply selling shoes to the league"
(CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 6/20)....The Indianapolis Motor Speedway
confirmed that the '97 Indianapolis 500 is sold out (INDIANAPOLIS
STAR-MEWS, 6/20)....A crowd of over 30,000 is expected for
Sunday's World Bowl in Edinburgh (USA TODAY, 6/20)
