MODELL STADIUM? RAVENS SEEK ORIOLE PARK DESIGNER'S HELP

     Calling suggestions that construction of a new stadium be
put off for a year "totally, absolutely unacceptable," Ravens
Owner Art Modell defended the stadium design while at the same
time saying he is attempting to hire Camden Yards architect Janet
Marie Smith as a consultant.  According to the Baltimore SUN, the
Ravens displayed updated designs of the much-criticized stadium
at a news conference yesterday, but the plans "offered no serious
changes."  Modell said he was "delighted with the design," while
adding he would welcome any suggestions and criticisms.  Modell
said Smith "would not be responsible for redesigning anything or
replacing any architects" (Baltimore SUN, 6/13).
